It is Marine fuel oil type RMG 380 commercial denomination IFO 380 (Intermediate Fuel Oil 380) produced from heavy and medium oil fractions mixture, obtained from primary and secondary crude oil processing.
As a residual product, HFO is a relatively inexpensive fuel – typically its costs around 30% less than distillate fuels but it does contain a lot of impurities and must be kept at a high temperature, as it is very viscous, both during storage and use in ships main engines to ensure efficient transfer and combustion. Its use required extensive adaptation of the injection system and other components of low and medium speed engines.

Marine Fuel Oil type DMA, commercial denomination MGO (Marine Gas Oil) produced by mixing of light and medium fractions obtained by atmospheric and vacuum distillation of Crude Oil. It is 100% distillate type fuel, without additives or residues and during the distillation it was boiled into a gas, then condensed into liquid. DMA is the common fuel for tugboats, fishing boats, crew boats, drilling rigs and ferry boats. Ocean-going ships that take residual fuel oil bunkers also take distillate fuels for use in auxiliary engines and sometimes for use in port, as DMA can be used in four-stroke machines and generators.DOWNLOAD SPEC DOCUMENT
